In the 60s and 70s he showed in both solo and group exhibitions in Belgium, Germany, England and the Netherlands.

He was invited to the University of Michigan as artist in residence in 1982 and two years later he moved to the United States, which has been his primary residence ever since, first in Chicago and later in Connecticut where he moved in 1997.

Throughout this time he has also maintained a studio in Belgium where he spends part of each year.
His work is represented in public and private collections in the USA and Europe.
